The game’s basic premise is you’re a pirate of some type named Valzar, and one day a group of creatures steal you and your friends treasure. The goal is simple; recover 4 pieces of the treasure. After setting aboard a ship with your crewmate/partner, you have the option of four areas to explore. After choosing an area to explore, the player then gets treated to a smaller grid-based map consisting of 36 arenas per area. The game is a 2D sidescroller with roguelike and RPG elements.

Overall, if you’re a fan of roguelike games with an interesting art style and fun gameplay, then Valzar is for you. It’s satisfying to play and has plenty of replayability. It’s only problem is that is released on the day of Steam Winter Sales. Not the best move, but hopefully the game still sees some limelight.
